Spider Veins and Broken Capillaries

Laser vein therapy is used to treat spider veins and broken capillaries on any skin surface. The most common areas of treatment are the face and legs. To accommodate a wide range of needs, we have two kinds of lasers in our Arlington office. Depending on the type of problem and the size of the veins being treated, Dr. Weinstein will recommend either the Candela Gentle YAG laser or the Lumenis IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) machine.

Benefits of Laser Vein Therapy

  • Effectively eliminates nasal veins, spider veins and broken capillaries
  • Safe, effective treatment
  • Easy post-treatment care

Most small spider veins and broken capillaries can be treated with one of our two lasers. Treatment time is short and requires 2 to 5 sessions to achieve the desired results.

Common Questions about Veins and Capillaries

Does treatment hurt?
Treatment may be a little uncomfortable. The laser pulse feels like a warm rubber band snap, but once treatment is over, so is the discomfort. While most patients do very well without anesthesia, topical anesthetic gel is available for those who need it.

What are the side effects?
The most common side effect of treatment is bruising of the treated area for up to several days.

How do I know if I am a candidate for laser vein therapy?
Dr. Weinstein can determine your candidacy after examination during your complimentary consultation.
