Questions About Perma Facial Implants™
I’ve heard that lip implants can be firm and palpable under the tissue. How are Perma Facial Implants different?
Perma Facial Implants are a safe and predictable alternative to previous implants and consist of a sylastic material, which is flexible and allows natural looking and feeling movement of the implant as your lips move, Perma Facial implants provide effective augmentation without rigidity, lumps, or palpable implant material.
How long do Perma Facial Implants last?
The Perma Facial Implant is classified as permanent, which means that once implanted, they can remain in your lips indefinitely. One advantage of the Perma Facial Implant is that if a patient desires to have the implant removed, it can be removed completely and safely. Permanent injectable implant gels cannot be removed easily.
What are the risks and side effects of this procedure?
Perma Facial Implant placement is a minimally invasive surgical procedure which can be completed in our Las Colinas office utilizing a local anesthesia. The procedure takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete and carries the same risks as any other minimally invasive procedure, which would include bleeding, swelling, bruising, and infection. Most patients experience some moderate swelling of the lips for up to several days after the procedure. There are no contraindications for patient selection. There are specific pre- and post-operative instructions, which help to minimize swelling and other complications associated with this procedure.
