Pre- and Post- Treatment Instructions

Before Your Treatment

• Discontinue use of aspirin, Tylenol, or any herbal supplements such as Ginkobiloba for at least two week before your procedure.
• If you will be under general anesthesia, do not eat or drink anything, including water, for at least six hours before your procedure, unless special medication has been prescribed.
• No makeup on the day of the procedure.
• Patient must have a driver present at the time of the procedure for the ride home. Patients will not be permitted to be driven home by a taxi or a bus. Patients undergoing treatment with local anesthesia may drive themselves.

After Your Treatment

• Keep your head elevated and sleep with your head propped on two pillows for the first several nights.
• Take medications (antibiotics, and pain medicine, if prescribed) as directed.
• You may use a cold pack or ice pack for the first 48 hours to minimize swelling.
